Meditation & Mindfulness
Meditation and mindfulness profoundly changed my life, from my physical and mental health all the way to my career path. Now, they form the central core of both my self-care and teaching toolboxes. Wishing I'd had them sooner, I'm called to share them so I can help others feel better as well.

I strive to make the practices easy and accessible so more people can experience the benefits.

What is Meditation?
In meditation, we pause our "normal lives" and typically focus on an anchor, for instance, the breath, relaxing the body, a repeated phrase or "mantra," or imagery. You can meditate seated, lying down (my favorite!) or while mindfully moving.

Often, people think meditation requires "stopping your thoughts," and this is indeed both a style and positive byproduct of meditation—but there are many other meditation styles that are easier for a wider range of people and still proven to have these same powerful benefits.
What Meditation Style(s) Do I Teach?
I prefer leading meditations with more tangible anchors, most often relaxing the body, watching the breath, and beautiful, relaxing imagery. For so many of us, these make it easier to slow our thoughts and access the body's relaxation response, our fight-or-flight antidote.

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is an umbrella term that refers to pausing, rooting ourselves in the present moment (as opposed to our reoccurring thoughts or stress loop!), and observing rather than judging. Meditation is just one practice within mindfulness. Others include mindful eating, attuning to your senses, mindful walking, and checking in with yourself.
